Field Notes

Description:

A young, bright orange-red salamander with dark spots all over the body except the ventral side (underbelly). Approximately 10 cm long.

Habitat:

Found crossing a rainy paved road alongside a small forested stream.

Notes:

The eye is orange in this species and can be used to distinguish this species from its sister species whaich may be sympatric.
