Field Notes

Description:

Small hole about 3mm in diameter bored in a large pine cone. I think the location of the hole makes it look like a duck from one angle and a bird in another :)

Habitat:

Sugar Pine cone about 30 cm tall at Palomar Mountain

Notes:

Suspect this was bored by a Wood-boring Beetle
