Field Notes

Description:

A beautiful burnt-orange bracket fungi, with a velvety top. About 15cm in length. I'm not sure of it's identity; it could be a Laccocephalum hartmannii, as young bodies are a brownish-red and velvety in texture... but this one seems fairly mature, at which point the L. hartmannii is generally paler and cracked on top. So I dunno... :). It's a beautiful colour though... dontchathink?

Found in Amamoor State Forest, Queensland.
