Unfortunately you can't separate the 2 postmen from a dorsal shot. You need a ventral view then it is quite easy.
OK - I originally questioned because I *think* there was a spotting several months ago (I'll see if I can find it) where the general consensus was postman, but it was clearly out of its range (and was not from a conservatory).
Yes, it was taken at the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls Ontario. An amazing experience!
Yes, but it must have been taken in a butterfly house.
Aren't Postman butterflies neotropical? I thought this spotting was from New York?
Is Heliconius erato (Red Postman) OR Heliconius melpomene (Postman).
