Description:

small stocky cetaceans about 5.5 ft long with very dark backs.

Habitat:

cooler coastal waters of the North Atlantic, North Pacific and the Black Sea

Notes:

We saw several pods of these frolicking porpoises - quite a distance from the boat on our Whale watching trip off the coast of Southern California.
Sadly didn't see any whales but sighting these porpoise made up for it !!
