Yeah, they're crazy! I haven't had the luck to find (or smell, in this case!) some in person, but I'm working on it. :)
Being a stinkhorn, the method of its survival and spread is through the bugs that are attracted to the scent. They land, get coated in spores, and place them wherever else they may travel, where more stinkhorns can be created.
Probably has to do with the gunk on the left end of it.
That's a pretty unique looking one, isn't it? I wonder why the gnats seem so drawn to it.
