Field Notes

Description:

An arid zone cycad which is found only in Central Australia ( Macdonnel Ranges). Has a crown of pinnate leaves which have a blue-green colour and look soft and feathery but are slightly rough textured.

Habitat:

Arid central Australia - currently in the Finke River National park

Notes:

These cycads are slow growing and these were reported to be several hundred years old. They have probably not grown very much taller since I saw them in 2002.
