Field Notes

Description:

The mushroom I found has a black cap and a tan stem and the spores were brown and looked like strawberry seeds. The mushroom had 3 more mushrooms around it exactly the same, and the mushroom felt hard. Also, the mushroom was about 4-5 inches tall and 2-3 inches wide at the top and 2 and a half inches wide at the bottom.

Habitat:

There were pine trees next to them and we found the mushrooms in a leafy ditch. We were walking on a path in the woods when we found the mushrooms. There was some snow on the ground. We went out on November 1st and November 14.
