Field Notes

Description:

•Family: Lycaenidae • Status : common • Gender: spotted here is a female • Host plant : Kalanchoe

Habitat:

A common species found in Indian subcontinent. They can easily be spotted wherever it's host plants are located.

Notes:

The above was spotted laying eggs on Kalanchoe plants planted by myself. If I'm being honest, at first you won't really like them hanging around cuz once they lay eggs it's caterpillars can cause a considerable amount of destruction to the plant, as they feed on the internal tissues of the fleshy leaves. You don't want to see your beautiful plants being eaten up in a brutal manner, do you?! ;)
