Description:

nearly 3/4" wide. the first photo with the sunlight behind the moth and the second with shade.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica six weeks into the six month dry season.

Species ID Suggestions

Macaria sp.

The hindwing in Ametris is usually "rounded" and the forewing is some kind scallopped and whereas Ametris has an outward rounded forewing in Macaria there is at the "same place" an inward bow. So yours looks for me more like Macaria than Ametris.
I thought this might be like my other spotting ametris sp.?
Remembers me of a Macaria sp., but most of them are unidentified even by the experts.
