Keep trying Little Rex, sure you can come across this situation. Try this maybe can help, make a promise to yourself not to harm (take them home just for the purpose of taking their picture, and they will surely die) anything you found out there. Good Luck.

No problem, I've seen a lot of these in my school's campus. You're very lucky, I've been trying to find one preparing to pupate every time I go to school, and fail. x_x xD

This is amazing! I've always wanted to see a caterpillar preparing itself for its pupal stage. Very nice photos, and a great spot! :D
