Description:

This one was playing with me like he knew I wanted to get a photo of him. All I had was my tiny point n shoot on me. He'd fly and come right back over and over.

Very interesting, thank you. When I look it up it does look like that one. There were quite a few that day too. My goal someday is to get one by the water as they drink a water droplet. It is one of the most amazing things to watch.
This may be a Horned Clubtail (Arigomphus cornutus). It has the yellow ridge between the eyes as one diagnostic. However, the horned clubtail, while found in New York, are rare in that state.
