tough and leathery polypore with a darkbrown/blackish stipe. Cap in this spotting was of a mature stage , becoming a blood red , with tinges of black
Habitat:
7-10 of these growing up the entire length of a tree ..possibly dogwood.
Notes:
cap would have started off whitish /pale brown
