Field Notes

Description:

Males are called Peacock. Interesting fact, like a cupped hand behind the ear the erect tail-fan of the male helps direct sound to the ears. The spread of their tail-fan is a show for courtship.

Habitat:

Denver Zoo

Notes:

I was trying to attract the attention of a peacock for my niece by mimicking their call and this fellow spread his beautiful feathers for us.
