Field Notes

Description:

One of the most common butterflies around here in rural Austria.

Notes:

I found this butterfly in our attic in a spider's web. Supprised, that he was still alive i took him out of the net, took him outside for cleaning the web-rests off and then put him in a cardbord-box for the winter. As each winter a handfull of Inachis Io hibernate in our attic, i just put him there and will see whats what when it's over 10 °C outside again.
