Corema album is an endemic species more characteristic of dune systems from the Atlantic coast of the Iberian Peninsula, extending from Cape Finisterre to the Strait of Gibraltar. It occupies more or less mobile sand dune systems or sand on coastal cliffs.
It is an evergreen shrub, with height generally less than 1 meter. It has narrow leaves, dark green and produces a small white fruit, edible, and its foliage releases an odor similar to that of honey.
