Field Notes

Description:

A large male spider that dwell on plant leaves. Body length about 9mm. Dark reddish brown in color. 1st pair of legs are darker and more larger. 3rd pair of legs are so long that it has to be slightly folded. Looks like a Viciria sp. but it actually is a Parabathippus sp. (possibly Parabathippus petrae). Females are smaller and yellow in color.

Habitat:

Tree leaves in Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary, Sandakan, Sabah.
