Description:

I shot this grasshopper at night on a stucco wall next to a street light. It measures about 3/4" long

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica six weeks into the six month dry season.

Thanks J! i thought the same. it certainly has more colors than any other animal I have seen.
I have not seen this lovely little grasshopper since or before that night!
the only reference photos online are the link and yours bayucca. If these are the same species my spotting must be the female due to the coloration
