Thank you so much, Orbea. You identifications have been very helpful. Sadly, I don't recall which oak this is ... I'll do a better job of noting this in the future. I've only recently learned that the wasps are specific to host species. Thanks again for your help! :)
What oak is this? Quercus chrysolepis? Q. wislizeni? If you can tell me I think I can come up with a name for the gall.
Live oak galls from tiny little wood wasp.. They are very interesting to cut open..
