Description:

6 legs. Ca. 1cm in length. 2 large wings...

Habitat:

Mountains near Gibraltor in a Mediterranean Shrubland Biome. Found on a friend's wall.

Cool! I think it has something to do with their sensitivity to pollutants in and around water bodies. So the more mayflies you see, the better the condition of the fresh water body. They spend their young lives in the water. Very graceful insects, with a cool order name of Ephemeroptera, quite ephemeral indeed!
Thanks guys! I'll do some indepth research into how and why they are an indicator species for water quality.
Mayflies are cool. i think they only live for 24 hrs or something. indicator of good water quality.
I was going to guess possible mayfly too.
