Field Notes

Description:

Habitat: Growing in the debris from a highly rotted log at the base of a ridge in dense mixed hardwood/pine forest. Northwest Georgia.

Gills: pink to blush, crowded.

Stipe: cream to light brown with ridges that “twist around.”

Cap: pale peach to blush, slimy/wet, slight umbo/nipple.

Spore print: the mushroom turned into slime overnight, so i was left with a pile of brown-pink goop.
