Field Notes

Description:

Cute rodent is gray-brown with a chestnut stripe on its back. It also has a slender and furry tail.

Habitat:

It was living in a burrow under a manzanita bush close to an aspen-dominated stream area.

Notes:

They act very similarly to a prairie dog, they stand up and look around.
