Field Notes

Description:

These beautiful yellow discs were covering the base of a tree that a beaver gnawed on. Formerly Bisporella citrina

Habitat:

Dead, hardwood tree that was gnawed halfway through by a beaver.

Notes:

The last photo shows the other fungus growing on the tree with it. I am not sure if there is any mycorrhizal relationship, but I think it is good to note when fungi are seen in close association.
