Field Notes

Description:

Egg: small, peach color.

Silkie Chicken: small, soft, fluffy, adorable.

Habitat:

Backyard Coop, Midwest, Missouri.

Notes:

Silkie chickens are smaller than usual chickens so the eggs are smaller and darker, if you don't know what a silkie chicken looks like google it and look for images. The egg color depends on the color of the chicken, for example if you had a white chicken then it's egg will be lighter than other colored chickens.

If you type rodent in the search box then if you look you will probably see my pic of my guinea pig and also if you tap the photos than you can see a bunch of them.

Well I can't taste any difference of the taste of the egg but I do know that even if you under cook them there skin and bones are black and there are lots of different colored silkies I have a gray, two black ones and a white one and yes they are so soft!! If it's really cold outside I pick one up and put my hands under its wings it's really warm under there wings.

I can't wait. I looked at Google, like you suggested. One site said that the chickens are not good for meat or eggs, but that their feathers are like Persian cats. Do you think that is a true statement? Wikipedia is down today, but I will check there tomorrow.

What an interesting spotting! Very cool to see the differences in eggs between different kids of chickens. Maybe you can upload a photo of one of the chickens too! I'm looking forward to seeing photos of the cool wildlife you can find where you live :)
