Largest carnivore and only bear species of the Tropical Andes. Inhabits forests of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.

Habitat:

Forests and grasslands of the Tropical Andes.

Notes:

Andean bears are listed as Vulnerable species due to habitat loss and human-bear conflict.
