Field Notes

Description:

A mostly brown moth with faint reddish lines. Also, a distinguishing feature is the two irregular black spots on the front wings. Wingspan 38-46 mm.

Habitat:

Spotted on a backyard fence. Attracted to light. Mixed woods nearby.

Notes:

Adults are nocturnal and the species is associated with deciduous forests.
