Description:

14 inches (35. 6 cm) beautifully colored, long thin snake. My first. This was unfortunately in permanent hibernation. But my first reptile spotting here in PA. Uses constriction and venom to disable its prey. Feeds on small salamanders, frogs, worms, and slugs. Mostly nocturnal. Very shy and hides.

Your first snake - Yay! Such a pretty one too! :)
I was looking under logs and leaves and in the brook and streams on our property yesterday for some snakes and salamanders because it was almost 50 degrees and I didn't find anything until I spotted this just at the edge of the woods on the lawn. :( R.I.P. Sammy, the snake!
These are so cute! I have some pics of a florida ring neck..
Or really dead! :) Nevertheless, it is my first snake photo ever. Glad it wasn't in a biting mood. HA!
