Description:
The Barbut's Cuckoo-bee is similar in appearance to the garden bumblebee. The area of the face has black hair tufts, which are particulary dense on the males. The are males, 15 to 16 millimeters in size, the larger females reach 18 to 20 millimeters. The thorax is black in the middle and finished at the front and rear, with yellow stripes. The first to third tergite of the abdomen is with black hair. Here, the hair of the first tergite is slightly into yellowish by the males. The hairs on the fourth to sixth tergite are white
Habitat:
The hibernating females appear between late April to July. The females of the new generation fly from mid-July, the males already from mid June

Notes:
at fungi-hunt i lifted a piece of bark from dead-tree-log. beneath was this hibernation-hideout-hole made in rotten wood from a humble-bee. I made my picture, coverd her again, and walked further.
