Field Notes

Description:

There were a flock of these cedar waxwings in the Canaan National Wildlife Refuge in Davis, West Virginia. This is a sleek looking gray to brown bird with pointed chest, light yellow belly and bandi-like black mask. Tip of tail bright yellow and tips of wings look as if they have been dipped in red wax. A majestic looking bird for sure.

Habitat:

Canaan National Wildlife Refuge, Davis, West Virginia.
