Description:

Seen it on my garden wall. Not sure which species of butterfly this cocoon belongs to. In the first pic some creature is visible on the back, but I guess it went off later on. It was suspended on the wall using a web.

Habitat:

Seen in a cool and shady place and there are lots of flowering gardens around it.

This is a butterfly cocoon and the girdle thread is a feature of many species. It looks like one of the swallowtails.
