Field Notes

Description:

Adult birds have pale gray heads and upper parts, light underparts, salmon-pink flanks, and dark gray wings. Their extremely long, forked tails, which are black on top and white on the underside, are characteristic and unmistakable. At maturity, the bird may be up to 14.5 inches (37 cm) in length. Immature birds are duller in color and have shorter tails. A lot of these birds have been reported to be more than 40 cm.

wuaauu,beautiful spot,whith that photo in first place you are going to have douzens of like's:-)i saw the spot 2 or 3h ago and by the photo that was showed in the home page did'nt take my atencion and now whith the Karen like apears again in the home page,i thougt it was another spot:-)
For this series I just sat in my car, shooting out the driver window. I watched as this bird fluttered off the fence multiple times to chase after insect prey. It was a wonderful experience.
