Description:

he Red admiral, also known as Red Admirable is an easily distinguished medium-sized (some 5 to 6 cm wingspan) butterfly with dark-brown or black wings with orange bands and white spots - these decorations are less visible on this individual, whose wings were well used and partially broken.

Habitat:

Widespread butterfly in all temperate regions. Here, observed in National park Krka, on some wetlands vegetation growing in the middle of river, on shallow rapids. Krka river is surrounded by a lush broad-leaved forest.
