Description:

this little guy is about the size of a quarter.

Habitat:

tropical dry forest of NW Costa Rica 7 weeks into the six month dry season

Welcome! You obviously trust my ID, I think it fits quite well, but with the tricky Calephelis I am not 100% sure about Schausi (only 95%;-)...).
My guess would be Calephelis schausi: http://www.neotropicalbutterflies.com/Site%20Revision/Pages/Metalmark_%20Pages/Riodinini_Tribe/Riodinini_Pages/Calephelis_schausi.html http://butterfliesofamerica.com/calephelis_schausi.htm But you know it is not really serious to ID closer than the genus in Calophelis. Many of them were even identified in the 70's of the last century.
