Description:

Pretty iridescent fly. small about half a centimeter.

Habitat:

Fairly common in this area, frequently found around flowering and fruiting plants.
photographed this one in community college butterfly garden.

Species ID Suggestions

It's a member of the Longlegged Flies, but I couldn't tell you which. Though it is likely in the subfamily Sciapodinae http://bugguide.net/node/view/12491
