Field Notes

Description:

About 20 feet tall, with several arms, lots of spines and holes that are being used by gila woodpeckers.

Habitat:

Sonoran desert, where Rincon mountain foothills meet basin. An area where there was once a lot of cattle ranching but now hosts the community of Civano.

Notes:

This was found in an area near what the Civano Middle School students know as their iSpots.
