Field Notes

Description:

A rather large moth, featuring mottled brown colouring with what almost looks like eyes on both the left and right sides. Those big red eyes seal the deal. I guess he would be about 15cm from wingtip to wingtip.

Notes:

This little guy was found on the men's toilet door at Venman Bushland National Park. He gave me a little fright. I've done a bit of research as to his identity, but I can't seem to pin it. Any suggestions are welcome!
