Field Notes

Habitat:

wetlands, wooded areas

Notes:

I was looking out of my front window at a bad storm that was rolling in when all of a sudden this big fellow flew in and took refuge from the storm on my porch furniture. This is a male. The biggest and one of the most beautiful moths I've seen. The caterpillar was found in a tree near my house.
