Description:

30mm hairy caterpillar; dorsal line of white spots within golden fur

Habitat:

On underside of acacia leaf within tall eucalyptus forest

Notes:

Also note two red parasite eggs towards left end.

This 'woolly bear' is probably an Anthela species. It's close to pupating if you are inclined to grow it out. The adult may look like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Anthela_varia.jpg (you may need to wait a day to see this). Better to not touch this one.
