So, that is one more clue about this one...it is nocturnal!
I never had thought that this one is a night shot! And you should know how many shots out of focus I usually need for 1 good one ;-)...
I have been shooting with macro 6 days. I really want to get better. These last shots have been taken at night and without a good light source it is amazingly difficult to see if these small subjects are in focus. Little by little my shots will get better. Thanks for the advice!!!! I am open to all the help anyone is willing to give. Constructive criticism makes us better.
Defintely a moth. Tricky to ID, there are tons of such tiny moths around. As I see you have the same problems as I have with dof of insects. I always try to have the whole insects in "one level" to get it fully sharp. Usually quite tricky, since they will fly away if you get too close or you have structures which are almost impossible to have in one level (grasshoppers). What about trying to close the lense (f11 ore even more)? For such a intense daylight shot this might be possible. However, in the rainforest there is no chance with a close lense, there is only flash use helpful. This is not a critique of your shot just an idea to get more fun and excitement with macro shots ;-)...
