Field Notes

Description:

a large green tree frog with bright red eyes and toes and blue markings on its side, which hunkers down in the daytime with eyes closed and colored parts curled under, so as to be almost invisible, as I discovered when I reached over one to snag a picture of an owl butterfly that had just landed to roost for the night.

Habitat:

rainforest, near water. These were in a frog garden in Laguna lodge and seemed partial to heliconia leaves

Notes:

These were taken on our second day as I wanted to get better pictures than I already had. As will be obvious in my next postings, thebetter pictures came the first day
