Description:
These chimps had a large open area in the UWEC. They were all rescued in one way or another and brought to the 'zoo'. When I arrived, they were being fed apples which were thrown into the enclosure by their keeper. Several landed in the water of the moat surrounding the enclosure, and the chimps broke off branches and manipulated the apples to the edge of the water where they could reach them without getting wet. I saw my son doing the same thing when he was young!
These chimps seemed to be slimmer than the wild ones I saw.
