Description:

Large Darner dragonfly with dark face and blue eyes. Thorax and abdomen have green and brown coloration.

Habitat:

Wooded wetlands and woodland streams

Notes:

Female Swamp Darner seen ovipositing (laying eggs) on woody debris within a wooded vernal pool SE of Buttonbush Bog at The Holden Arboretum, Lake County, Kirtland, OH.
