Description:
A very unique fig, which the fruits resemble acorn more than a fig. A coastal species which grows as a hemiepiphyte on host tree and strangles it over time. Fruits turn dark red when ripe.
Habitat:
Growing on a host tree by the beach. This species is so rare that it is found only on few islands. In Borneo, it is only found on two small islands. The limited distribution is still a mystery on this species.
Notes:
The scientific name can be confused with another fig species - Ficus glandulifera.
