Field Notes

Description:

Blatta orientalis Linnaeus, 1758.

Habitat:

This Cockroach was found in our front garden when it was disturbed during general maintenance of a storm drain. It had been hiding under a layer of dead leaves and other detritus and when that was removed, it scrambled all ever the garden, until it found a new hiding place.

Notes:

A comment about the colour of my roach. Wiki states that it is brown/black and you can see that mine is almost white, but Wiki also explains by means of a picture that a roach is very light coloured after moulting.
