Description:

Large sheep-like mammal seen along roadside in Rocky Mountains along US 34 in the Big Thompson River Canyon, East of Estes Park and West of Loveland, CO

Habitat:

Rocky Mountain grasslands and meadows. The Rocky Mountains bighorn sheep occupy the cooler mountainous regions of Canada and the United States. Bighorn sheep generally inhabit alpine meadows, grassy mountain slopes, and foothill country near rugged, rocky cliffs and bluffs.

Notes:

Seen along US 34 in the Big Thompson River Canyon, East of Estes Park and West of Loveland, CO. (Group of 1 male, 6 females and 2 yearlings)
