Field Notes

Description:

The Carolina Wren has a rich brown color on the upper part of its body, buffy below, and a notable white eyebrow. When building their nests they are known for building multiple nests to confuse predators, and they construct their dome-shaped nests out of snake skins, hair, feathers, and other materials. Another interesting fact about this bird is that they do not migrate.

Habitat:

Woodland thickets, ravines, and rocky slopes covered with brush.
