Field Notes

Description:

The case is made of pieces of Caribbean pine needles and silk, and can reach a length of 13 cm. The caterpillar itself is black and yellow, at least at the front end.

Habitat:

I found these bags in and around my yard in Kourou, mostly attached to the fence. They were there year round and very common.

Notes:

These are scans of paper photos I took in the 1990s.
Any help with the ID would be appreciated.
