The strange thing about this creature is that the lake was made by rain in the middle of the desert and there was no water before.
In several countries you can purchase packets of triops that you can raise in an aquarium. They are sold as "living dinosaurs." I got to see some wild ones in Italy when we were netting out newts. :-) http://www.buytriops.com/triops-eggs-5000-eggs-with-100-capsule/
