Field Notes

Description:

I believe this to be a male due to the very plumose antennae.

Habitat:

Decidiuous forests, orchards, wetlands, among others.

Notes:

Found laying on the ground at approximately 1600. Moth was picked up and placed on tree. It later alighted at approximately 2100.

Lovely macro! I have a cocoon that fell from one of our maple in a tank indoors & I'm hoping to get some photos of the moth eclosing in the spring!
Thank you Gerardo, he was very cooperative. I was able to put him into a quasi-light box for a little while to get the antennae.
