Description:

Unfortunately my spotting of this bird was interrupted by another spotter who did not know how to keep his cool. Luckily I was fast enough to take some pictures of the Common Merganser taking off.

That's some scientific name! So good they named it thrice! :)
Oh and nice photos, btw.
Red-breasted Mergansers have a much less contrasting neck and breast, the crests are shaggier, and they usually lack the conspicuous white chin that this bird shows.
